That most beautiful of all flowers, the rose, has been the inspiration for this lovely new doll from Melangell's - as you can see, she wears a stunning handmade and handpainted gown of soft pink, with a deep pink rose motif - as well as being a symbol of true love and marriage, the essential qualities of this flower include restoration of emotional balance, calmness and aphrodisia, which could perhaps explain its' great popularity!
This Pagan Rose Maiden has deep red hair crowned by a circlet of pink and ivory shaded roses and her handpainted eyes are deep emerald green, her pink gown has puffed sleeves of ivory vintage lace and a bodice of the same, with a touch of iridescent sparkle. Her necklace of seed beads features a pentacle and heart pendant.
This is Faith, the Forget Me Not Maiden, a lovely blonde haired doll wearing a beautifully handmade and handpainted aqua gown decorated with a swirling floral forget me not design,(in the language of flowers, it has the meanings of true love and faithfulness, also being used as a symbol by those under persecution), together with a vintage ivory lace bodice and sleeves and plaited ribbon sash. Seed beads in crystal and turquoise have been used to create her necklace, which also features a tiny pentacle and butterfly charm, whilst her matching handmade tiara also has a tiny crystal triple moon motif.....this doll's handpainted eyes are a deep violet/blue shade, with toning shadowing.
Another new doll from Melangell's today - this is Selena, the Starlight Maiden, inspired by the amazing and awe-inspiring beauty of the diamond studded night skies, home to many gods and goddesses of ancient cultures. She's dressed from head to foot in a deep but rich shade of velvet, her handmade ensemble comprising of a long formfitting strapless gown with armlets and sweeping cloak (decorated with glittering star gems in blues and crystal tones)...her necklace features vintage crystal beads and tiny stars, whilst her silvery chain girdle has not only stars, but a gorgeous crystal angel/goddess charm (obscured by ivy on picture, unfortunately!)......her hair is long and dark, crowned with a beaded bandeau complete with iridescent crystal triple moon motif. Her eyes are handpainted a silver shade, with toning shadowing.
